WIP Wednesday: Forward Progress*

Some weeks any forward progress is a good thing. I had The Husband home for 5 days and N for 3. Neither of them are conducive to squeezing in a few minutes knitting here and there. They expect things like a real lunch on a plate when in my world a few crackers or a piece of fruit counts as a lunch and the time used for prep and clean up is better used for knitting. Anyway, I did get a bit done on the beaded socks. The pattern is Ein Himmel voller Luftballons by Martina Kuppler.  I am knitting my socks top down using the charts and numbers from the pattern and adding a heel flap instead of a short row heel since it fits me better. The yarn is String Theory Caper sock in pewter. So far I am very pleased with everything about this pattern and yarn. I highly recommend both.

*This post is 2 hours late because of a school delay due to snow. I will be happy they did this in June when the last day of school is not extended by one day for today but right now I wish they had just called it a snow day and cancelled school all together.

I’ve been wanting to try a beaded project. I saw a lovely sweater with a beaded collar recently. It has my creative juices flowing. Do the beads make the socks feel heavy? I’m curious.

Still loving the socks! We have built in snow days that they use for school days as we get snowed in. We dodge 2 days because the state of Indiana also closed down those days. But yesterday’s no school has now eaten up the last built in day. We will be moving in to make up days if we get more snow!!!

It’s been a struggle with school closings here too…it’s just a tough winter all over it seems like.
