N’s Birthday Weekend

N turned 11 years old this weekend (how did that happen?) and we made the whole weekend a celebration. The Husband took a long weekend off from work. On Thursday The Husband heard an ad for the New England Auto Show and we cooked up a plan. N is a huge fan of all things car. He knows all about them and even spends time online comparing different models and such. The Husband bought some tickets and we put the plan into action. We told N we were going to a yarn show on Saturday. He groaned a bit and asked to stay with a friend while we went but The Husband told him we would get lunch after in Boston. Saturday morning we rode the subway into the city. N brought his 3DS so he wouldn’t be bored at the yarn show. We were walking towards the convention center when we finally handed him his ticket and said it was a car show not a yarn show. He was very excited! We spent hours looking at cars and trying them out. N picked up brochures for all this favorites.

I was totally impressed by all the car info N has inside his head. At one point we were looking at two trucks and he was able to tell me all the differences in the models. More info than I would ever need to know really.

And I was told over and over: Take a photo of this one. Then would you like to buy that one? My head was spinning by the time we had looked at and tried everything we could.

Of course he wants to go back again next year. It was fun to see his so excited but I think I would have liked it more if there had been yarn.

On Sunday The Husband had signed up to donate blood at a big blood drive at The Garden. We decided it would be fun to all go and check out the place. N had never been so it really was a lot of fun. We wandered around seeing whatever we could see.

We visited one of the really cool boxes that we’ll probably never see again. The seating looked really comfy and the bar was very well stocked. We took some time to walk through The Sports Museum. It was a wonderful way to celebrate N.

Awe. Happy Birthday N! I can imagine his excitement when he realized he wasn’t being dragged to a yarn show. Haha. Although, I would agree, personally, I’m more into yarn than cars. πŸ˜€

What a way to celebrate! Happy Birthday N. We took our daughter to a “basketball game” and when we hit the gates we handed her the ticket. Then she saw it was really her favorite country artist in concert. Can’t believe she didn’t catch on sooner!

Happy Birthday, N! What a great birthday weekend. He looks sooo happy! He’ll always remember this birthday. Better check your credit cards to make sure he didn’t order that convertible when you weren’t paying attention! πŸ™‚
