For a few days I was having a really hard time with this pattern. I am more than capable of knitting lace. It was something more. It was like I needed a little life lesson. I must have reknit the same few rows 3 or 4 times. I tried very hard not to get frustrated with the lack of progress. I didn’t throw the damn thing across the room. I just tinked back and reknit repeatedly until it was right and you know what. It all came out fine in the end. I have one more very simple row and then I move on to the garter stitch portion which is done with short rows. I’m bound to screw up something there but a deep breath, some tinking and reknitting and all will be fine in the end.

I have that problem sometimes. I’ve no idea why it happens, but somethings things just refuse to work. It’s looking really pretty though!

aw I’ll have that problem with lace sometimes. Or I’ll do just fine at the lace but then drop a stitch on a purl row or something *head desk*. Your lace is looking lovely š

Sometimes it does seem that we are stuck in a Groundhog Day scenario with a piece of knitting – I think Goddess Ewe definitely wants to impart some lesson, whether we understand it or know it in the end is questionable.
Have faith – take it slowly and I’m sure you’ll get through it just fine. Remember to breathe – and take a break when and if you get too frustrated with it.
Maybe we are just to anxious (in a good way) and eager to get something done because we love it so much, which partially causes the screw-ups? Who knows?
