Deep Thoughts And Appreciation

Last summer I was figuratively kicked in the gut. It was hard. I would have to say it was the deepest I have been hurt by someone I should have been able to trust. I was lied to and taken advantage of and it sucked. I spent weeks barely able to hold myself together, hardly getting out of bed and just thinking about the way I felt then, just the way I felt not what was done, leaves me wanting to burst into tears. Over this past year I have really worked on letting go and moving on. But more importantly I have learned to go with the flow. I just deal with whatever comes along and move on to the next thing. Nothing seems insurmountable. I was always a person in control, a person able to deal with whatever came along. I am just now getting that back and it feels good. Just the other day I was speaking with someone I know in a professional capacity and she complimented me in a way I haven’t been in a long time. I was almost taken aback by it because I have my defenses up all the time now. I think the tide may have turned.

I am really kind of late getting to these. I had two kind blogger give me awards and I am just now getting around to accepting them. Thank you to MidKnit Owl who gave me the Super Sweet Blogging Award and the WordPress Family Award and thank you to Tinkerbellknits for giving me the Wonderful Team Member Readership award.

I’m very sorry you were deeply hurt by someone you thought you could trust. I think we, who are generous, sometimes have high expectations of others and get let down when they don’t act nor perform as we do. Yes, I agree on going with the flow. Plus I advocate doing what you like when you want. March to your own drum because then you don’t have to expect high standards of others who may let you down.
Mahalo nui loa on this award! XXX

Very pleased for you to have survived to bring you to “a brighter” place now. 3 years ago what I thought was my best friend for 10+ yrs lets just say turned my life upsidedown. Things like you have been through are so hard to understand. You inspire me, as I believe you do many others —
    hugs 2 you,

I’m so sorry that happened to you, it really stinks. But I’m glad that you are getting stronger and back to your usual self again. I think we are all stronger and more resilient than we think is possible. Congratulations on all your awards and thanks for the linkies to all the blogs – will check them out!

Perhaps this is why I feel such a kinship with you … apart from the knitting?

At any rate, I’m glad that your journey/recovery is good … and that YOU feel you have turned a corner …. the saying “what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger” … I think in the intelligent, loving, capable hands of someone like yourself …. indeed, it does apply, even when the days of pain are rough. Strength one step, moment at a time.

Ohh gee … thanks for the awards … seriously??? I’m surprised … but I have to admit the nominating others is a bit problematic … but I will see what I can do in the next little while.

    Thanks 🙂
