Here I am back again without a photo for my post. You’ll have to use you’re imagination to see what I saw and smell what I smelled.
Yesterday The Husband, N and I drove up to Vermont. We’ve been talking about hitting a few places that we’ve wanted to go and we took the opportunity to do them. Our first stop after a quick breakfast at McDonald’s was the King Arthur Flour store in Norwich VT. I love going there. Every time they have changed the store and gotten new products. I always spend time before hand making a list of things I want to see and touch in person and a short list of must buys. They did not disappoint. The store looked fantastic and totally different from when I was there last. I bought a few things like sourdough starter. I’m afraid that I neglected mine to the point of death. I also got some pastry flour to make biscuits and extra flakey pie crust and pumpernickel flour for baguettes. I see some baking happening this fall. From there we headed up to Cabot to go to the Cabot Creamery Visitors Center where we did the cheese making tour and ate a bunch of samples. I am not a cheese person so I sampled the whey butter and the assortment of dips. N ate his weight in cheese. His favorite was the hot Buffalo Wing Cheddar. From there believe it or not we went for a late lunch at P & H Truck Stop. The food was delicious but the highlight for me was the homemade roll. It was yummy slathered in butter. At this point it was getting late and we knew we had a couple hour drive to get home but we decided to head home through New Hampshire so that N could experience the world’s largest candy counter at Chutters in Littleton. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much candy in one place in my life. N walked down the counter picking out a few of this and some of that and placing them in his bag. He was surprisingly restrained. From there we headed for home getting in about 12 hours after we left. It was a fun day. And no I didn’t knit at all the entire time.
