A Quickie

This is going to be a quick post. Yesterday H had her wisdom teeth removed. She’s fine. Everything went well. She got to bring the teeth home and boy are they huge. A few more days of soft food and she should be back to normal.

I have started the last section of my Daybreak. The yarn is The Loopy Ewe Solid Series in smoke and blackberry. After being told last week that the yarn may run I did a quick test with some leftover yarn. The dye held just fine, until I added some Eucalan. So I guess I’ll pass on the Eucalan when I block it and instead throw in some vinegar to see if I can get the dye to set.

Sad. I didn’t get to take my teeth home. Mine had to be cut out and all sorts of ickyness. I woke up while they were putting the stitches in and I kept trying to tell them I wanted to keep my teeth but they told me to go back to sleep. ::sigh::

Glad you had a heads up before finishing and soaking your shawl. Love the color combo.

  5. I’m so glad you checked it – I’d hate for all your good work to be ruined. Hopefully vinegar works to set the colours!

  6. Good job you got a tip off about the yarn, that would have been awful if it ran when you were washing it! Fingers crossed the vinegar and some heat help it to set better. It’s looking great.

Karen, if you got a notification that I was refollowing your blog, I did not unfollow on purpose. I was using the WP phone app and was having technical difficulties. The format changed when I viewed posts and I was touching little icons and I guess that made me unfollow your blog. Then I had to follow again. Sorry.
Your shawl is looking terrific! But boo, on the running dye. That’s not cool. Hope your vinegar hypothesis works out.
Glad to read your daughter is doing well. Extractions are brutal on the mouth. I don’t know why. How funny she brought them home too. Dentists are responsible for acquiring their own teeth to practice technuiques upon. When I had my 16 taken out, my perio’s mentored group totally scored!
