Doing Stuff

We’re pretty sure we’re not going to get a real vacation this year. There are just too many things going on this summer to squeeze in any real away time. We’ll have to take our vacation in minutes instead of days. Over the weekend we grabbed a couple of hours of that time. We went for a short drive, had a yummy lunch and then went for a walk on the beach.

Can you guess where we were? N picked up a few shells. We let the waves roll over our feet. There was sand between our toes. I’m really surprised that such a short break from everyday life was so relaxing. We vowed to make another evening trip to the beach soon.

I’m sure you’ll recognize this. Does anyone remember when the fisherman came to life on Bewitched? I loved the episodes they filmed on the north shore. I think it was the first time I’d seen places I’d been in real life on TV.

That looks wonderful! I didn’t recognize it until I saw the fisherman statue. No, I totally missed those Bewitched episodes – I’ll be wathcing all the old reruns now! I am all for staycations and day trips or evening trips and we are very fortunate in this area to have so much variety for day trips (for a very long day trip how about taking the ferry to Block Island?).

We went on a mini vacation this past weekend. Just a trip down to Monterey Bay. The ocean was freezing but we were okay with that. The aquarium was lovely, and the town was nice 🙂

Good for you all on getting away for a couple of hours. It’s funny how we look forward to summer but tend to fill it up with camps and such and then stuff like that fills it up and makes us run around, yeah?

Little vacations can be just a memorable and relaxing as a long one…maybe even better depending on if you are a good traveler or not…

Sometimes little vacations are best. That’s what we always do too!

That sounds so wonderful and restorative! I actually like little ones better, I don”t get so tired out

A mini break is always a good thing, especially when you get the chance to revisit places or discover new ones in your own backyard. The chance to step back and out and really immerse oneself in the experience, forgetting the “endless necessities” can be just the ticket to recharging. Sounds like you and the family had a wonderful time … and that is what truly counts. 🙂

The beaches of the Atlantic Coast are so different from the beaches of the Gulf Coast. Wether the sand is grey/brown or white, beaches always refresh the spirit.
