The Time Just Flu

Well that was bad. It would appear that N and I had the flu. I’m not sure if the husband got it too or what. He’s still on the antibiotics for the pneumonia and isn’t right. I have felt drained and dragging. N said to me the other day when I asked him how he felt “I am tired every minute.” That is exactly how I feel. Whatever we had really zapped the life right out of us and isn’t letting go even now.

Through all this there has been only the tiniest bit of knitting. I had the will but not the ability. For many days I sat with my knitting right next to me waiting for the will to pick it up but it didn’t arrive until just the other day.

I spent a wee bit of time doing a couple of rows and then undoing those rows and redoing them again on the Steampunkery Socks. I think I finally have an idea of what I’m doing. The pattern requires way more brain cells than I could spare while sick so they have been waiting for the full return of my mental capacity. I am still enamored with the pattern and the yarn has a smooth cottony feel that I really like.

The vast majority of my knitting time has been spent on Celestarium. I know it seems crazy to think that knitting a shawl with beads would be easier than a sock but it is. You’ve got to keep in mind that the color of the photo is completely wrong. For some reason my camera thinks the yarn is blue. It is not. It is black with hints of gray. There is NO blue. I tried to edit the color so it would be correct but I can’t get it to look anything but blue.

The plan for this week is to get back into the swing of things, slowing. Getting the house back into shape is going to be a major task. I’ll be doing laundry and dishes for hours. I also have to lay in a supply of food. Hopefully I’ll be back to blogging too.

Sorry to hear you haven’t/aren’t feeling well…I was wondering what was keeping you from posting and hoping it wasn’t anything too serious.
The knitting is looking good! If the yarn is black and with those sparkley beads, it’s gonna look so cool…
    Feel better soon!

I hope you all feel better soon. I agree with Marilyn that that knitting is looking good, despite the flu.

Hope that you and everyone in the family feel better soon. Just deal with the daunting recovery chores one step at a time – and remember, don’t overdo it!

Despite all the nasty drained feelings, the knitting looks good. It always helps to have something simple to try or knit when the brain power is on the fritz.

You all have been so sick this year, it is so sad! I always get the flu shot now (I’m actually required to have it as of this year because I work in a hospital) and I’ve never been disappointed. At least your Celestarium is looking gorgeous! I hope you guys feel better soon!
