WIP Wednesday: The Most Hopeful Part

Not a blue yarn

Just yesterday I cast on a new sock. After discovering Marlene with the big hole (I can’t fix it, the hole is actually 3 or 4 yarn overs “cut” by the unseen force in the washing machine) I knew I wanted to knit one of Cookie A’s patterns. Something to fill the void shall we say. I decided on Angee. The yarn is Sensations TrulyΒ in truly turquoise that I picked up on clearance at JoAnn’s. So far so good but who knows if I will commit.

I have that book, but I can never seem to get myself to knit any of them, they are just so scary. I hope it all works out!

  2. Heather says:

I love that yarn color! It is so pretty!

I wish I could knit socks. I’ve tried a few times… I can’t seem to get the knack of knitting in the round with sock weight yarn. 😦

  4. Janet says:

Angee is a very pretty pattern and will look great in the pretty turquoise yarn.

  5. YarnyDragonfly says:

Nice! Can’t wait to see what it will look like.

  6. Angee will look great from that yarn! Seems like my washing machine has been talking to yours – mine destroyed a hand-knit pair of socks on the weekend too!

  7. Michelle says:

Commitment? No need to worry about commitment with a rebound project. πŸ˜€

  8. Marilyn says:

They’ll be pretty! I can’t wait to see the results. πŸ˜€

Such a pretty blue color. Hopefully these are a go!

  10. Kepanie says:

Aw, ouchie! Can’t darn the sock? How sad. Always fun to have the excuse for a replacement, yeah?

  11. Have you considered washing your socks in lingerie bags? I handwash mine, but if I was brave enough to try the machine, that’s the route I’d go. What a bummer! I’d be tempted to frog the socks with the holes.
As long as your socks still fit in a drawer or two, you’re not a hoarder. I would like to see pics of all of them together. πŸ™‚

  12. Pumpkin says:

Oh how sad that you had to retire the socks, but it looks like the new pair will fill the gap nicely.
