Gifties!

I am so lucky to be surrounded by thoughtful people. When Liz was away at Christmas in Ireland visiting her family I was tapped to keep an eye on their house. It’s right next door so keeping an eye and taking care of things is pretty easy. She had given me her CSA share which was delicious and very generous so imagine my surprise when she rang my bell and gave me yarn for shoveling while they were gone! The yarn is something I have never seen and can’t even find a link for which makes it extra exciting. The yarn is BellaLana Marathon in color 120520. Thanks Liz! I can’t wait to cast on.

Now I can not remember what made Teresa and I start talking about Sweet Tomatoes. I just know it came up in conversation right before she went to visit her mother in AZ. As a quick back story years ago when H was about 10 we went to FL to visit my parents who were spending the winter in Pompano Beach. While we were there we tried a new to us restaurant Sweet Tomatoes which for those who have never heard of it is a salad bar buffet place. The food was tasty, fresh and healthy. We loved it. To this day whenever we discuss restaurants, and that happens way more than it probably should, we always say we wish we had a Sweet Tomatoes here. Teresa gifted me a super cute Sweet Tomatoes bag which I love so much. I made H and my mother so jealous when they saw it. Corporate people take note: I am now a walking advertisement for your fine establishment. Please bring one to New England! Thank you Teresa. I love my new bag!

Last but not least one of the young ladies, S, at our Knit Night works at Bruegger’s and has been known to share some bagels with us. The bagels at Bruegger’s are my favorite so this has been a real treat. Both times I’ve come home with bagels I’ve had to run out a couple of days later to buy a dozen because once you start eating these bagels you can’t stop! Thanks S we love the bagels and because of you we’ve bought 3 dozen in the last couple of weeks. Sorry I don’t have a photo. We just eat them up way too fast.

Wonderful yarn, adorable bag and yummy bagels…you have been getting super gifties! I’ve never heard of Sweet Tomatoes before but it sounds like an interesting place to eat…especially if the food is as good as the pictures on the bag. 😀

It seems you are surrounded by people as lovely as you! The yarn is such a sweet and generous gift! I love getting yarn as souvenirs when I’m on vacation, but I’ve never had anyone bring me back yarn from their holiday. Very nice.

That’s weird that there’s no mention of the yarn anywhere! I just saw it was German and know you like other German yarns??? And Irish colors of course! There was plenty of it at This Is Knit in Dublin if anyone wants it!!!

Yes, listen up you corporate people at Sweet Tomatoes – we want a Sweet Tomatoes in New England (within easy driving distance)! Glad you are enjoying the bag. That yarn is gorgeous – can’t wait to see how it knits up! Yes, those bagels are dangerous!

Love the color and can’t wait to see it knit up. We used to eat at a restaurant in Daytona called Sweetwaters. Sadly, after the last hurricane they never really got back in business. We miss that place so much!
