Stifled

This photo has almost nothing to do with this post*

When I was a kid (I’m giving away my age again) we used to watch All In The Family. Archie used to tell Edith to stifle when he wanted her to stop talking. Often what she had to say was right and important. I feel the same way. Do you know that feeling like someone is standing on your throat? Like you want to explode but you know you can’t so you just sit unable to speak. That is how I feel. There is drama outside of my house but it is effecting us. The wheels are in motion and there is nothing that can be done. So here I sit unable to function normally. Unable to fix it. I need the scab to heal and then I’ll be better able to move on. Until then things will be… different.

*When we were in Florida the Husband bought one of those citrus trees packaged for tourists. He picked a lemon tree and to my utter amazement it is doing really well on the porch. H planted it in compost from the compost bin, hence the weeds. All the light green leaves have sprouted just since we’ve been home. I never thought it would do this well. At least something seems to be thriving around here.

During a time when a situation was beyond my control, I was told, “This, too, shall pass”, I didn’t want to hear this – and it seemed too simple; but you know what it passed with little scars and a fading memory. It is just a season . . .

I’m sorry there is unsolvable drama in your life. Time heals all wounds or as DH says…Time wounds all heels! I hope things improve quickly.
Yay for the lemon tree! What fun!

Nice tree! Sorry to hear about your drama. I know the feeling, I have to keep my mouth shut at work all the time and I have some pretty awful co-workers.

I’ve got nothing about the drama. My house is filled with it right now, what with the move and all. But, the tree……..I grew up in southern Wisconsin (you know, cold in the winter and a buttload of snow?). My parents (while they were still married so sometime in the late 70s/early 80s) started growing an orange tree in the house. When my dad finally transplanted it to his brother’s house outside of Orlando, it was quite large (particularly for a tree that was grown inside).

Since it’s been moved to Florida, it’s been doing quite well.

I’m sorry other ppl’s crap is affecting you internally. I have ohana drama also and prefer ignorance b/c it stresses me out so much. I try to stay Switzerland.
Just focus on your ohana and the things like knitting socks that make you feel joy and peace.
