Something A Bit Different
It’s back, and this time it has the most amazing of prizes (look for the prize for ‘most creative post’). This was a massive success last year, and for many it was the highlight of the Blog Week, so this year you are challenged, again, to find a new way of blogging.
This is an experimental blogging day to try and push your creativity in blogging to the same level that you perhaps push your creativity in the items you create. There are no rules of a topic to blog about but this post should look at a different way to present content on your blog. This can take one of many forms, but here a few suggestions:
- Wordless, photographic post
- Video blog post
- Podcast
- Cartoon/sketch of an idea
- Write about a subject from a different perspective (for example, you could write about a day in the life of a knitted sock from the point of view of the sock).
- Interpretive modern dance (why does someone always suggest this?)
- A poem or piece of rhyming verse
- Stop motion animation
The grand prize for Knitting and Crochet blog week, as donated byJenACKnitwear and Fyberspates will be given to the most creative blog post after a nomination and voting round, and due to the immensity of the prize it is really worth putting bit of time and effort into this. At the very least you will get an amazing blog post out of it.
I have seriously considered all possibilities for a creative/something different type post. I thought about doing a podcast but my mouth got terribly dry just thinking about it. A movie was in the works but my camera skills are totally lacking. We won’t discuss the interpretive dance. Think Elaine on Seinfeld. A cartoon just isn’t happening. So I guess I’ll have to bow out…wait the door bell just rang. I’ll be back.
Good she’s gone. I’ll have to make this quick. I’m Bad Karen. I’m really not bad, I’m more of a little voice in her head. I’m the one that makes her do those things she isn’t proud of. I’m the one who makes her set aside the knitting projects before they’re done and NOW I’m going to tell you why.
Remember that sweater Cassidy that she was so excited to knit? She thinks there is something wrong at the neck. I convinced her of it. There isn’t of course, I just wanted to mess with her.
How about this beauty from the bottom of the UFO pile? Yeah, it’s White Pine. She drooled over that sweater for a while before she pulled the trigger and bought the yarn. She thinks the sleeves are wonky. They aren’t. I almost had her convinced to rip them out and reknit them but she flaked and tucked them into the UFO pile. I must remember to pull that stuff during the day. She’s way too cautious at night.
One more knit thing. Those Fiddle Head mittens. You remember those right? They are super easy for colorwork so I had to come up with some other reason to make her dump those. I told her the yarn was scratchy. She fell for it! I don’t know how she can be such a sap. Not only is the yarn not scratchy but they’re going to have a liner and she was thinking of alpaca or something else super soft. She makes it so easy to screw with her. I keep getting her to cast on socks! Can you imagine knitting socks? You can by them for like a buck at Walmart and she’s wasting all her time knitting them with expensive yarn. What a fool!
The final thing is that 10lbs she gained? Yeah that was me too. I’ve got an incredible sweet tooth and I make her crave this. Also she can’t knit while she’s eating so I win there too. Oh crap, here she comes. I better go.
That was weird. There was no one at the door. Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, I will have to pass on this topic but I’ll come back tomorrow. Be sure to search 3KCBWDAY5 if you’d like to read the other something a bit different posts.
I love your post! I think we all have that littl evoice sometimes 🙂
