WIP Monday

Since I don’t know if Sheldon will still be a WIP on Wednesday I thought I would share him today. Meet the parts of Sheldon sitting on the window sill because at this time of the morning there is no natural light in the house except on the window sill. When I first started knitting Sheldon I was a bit discouraged because knitting worsted weight yarn on size 3 needles makes my hands and wrists ache. Once I had completed the body and moved on to the neck my hands and wrists felt a bit better and I knew I could get through the rest. As a side note, I don’t think the Berroco Comfort yarn was helping. It is all fake stuff with no give to speak of. The legs were pretty easy, completed in a couple of hours while taking a few breaks. The shell I started last night. It too is pretty easy and I think with a little dedication I could have it done today. That will leave sewing on the legs and putting together the whole shebang. This is the point where I often fail. I just don’t have it in me to sew things up. I’m going to try to overcome that this time. Sheldon will accept nothing less.

Sheldon will be adorable. I love his springy colors!
I totally avoid cotton yarn. It is what makes my hand and wrists ache… It sounds like they maybe got the name wrong on that yarn. Comfort…umm, not so much!

Wow, he’s coming along very fast, and he’s looking very cute. I know the feeling with the berroco yarn, they put acrylic in almost all their yarns and it makes it hard for me to love it. But I think you still have great colors and he will look very very very cute when you are done.

Sheldon’s adorable. I always wonder just how people who design things like that figure out how to make all the little parts fit together into something amazing. It’s exciting enough to be the knitter putting the puzzle together, though!

Looking so cute! When I made a monster recently, I did the same thing with the tiny needles for the weight of yarn… It really does make your hands ache, doesn’t it?!

He’s coming out so well! I love his two-toned shell. I hear you on the sewing. Sewing can be a pain w/little toys like that. I’m often impatient.
