FO Friday: Fraternal

The lighting here is awful or maybe it’s the temporary monitor. Everything looks washed out. We’ll carry on anyway. I completed the Opal Circus socks and here they are as promised on Wednesday. As you can plainly see I didn’t bother to match the stripes. I love fraternal socks. They each have their own personality. Did I ever mention that the husband is a fraternal twin? He is and he couldn’t look any more different than his twin brother. People are always surprised to hear that they are the twins. So, the socks. The yarn is Opal Circus yarn in the color Jongleur that was a gift from Liz. The pattern is the one I keep in my head over 64 stitches. This is only the second time I’ve used Opal yarn and I really enjoyed it. The yarn is fun and quick to knit while watching the colors go by.

  1. I love those socks! Who cares whether or not they match perfectly? They are pretty just as they are.

As long as they aren’t a fraternity with wild parties, I say bring on the frat! LOL Haye a great weekend!

Very pretty socks! The colors are great.
I always wished I had been a twin. And when I was having kids I wished I would have a set of twins….no such luck though!

I love fraternal socks (which is good, as I’m not sure I have the patience to try and make things like socks match!)

Nice! I recently made some socks with Opal and loved the color changes too. I do find them a bit scratchy though, which I did not expect at ALL after hearing so many good things.

  7. Ooh, love stripey socks! And I love them just a little bit more when they don’t match exactly. Enjoy them!

Watch out, the Matching Socks Police might be monitoring this blog! Personally, I like it when socks don’t come out exactly the same (which works out well for me because most of mine don’t!).

What a perfecto name for this project!
I don’t why ppl can be so anal about matching stripes or whatever on socks. I mean come on…really?
I have two friends who are fraternal twins; they look mostly alike but of course only those that know them can tell them apart. A miracle story here…the older by 2 minutes twin wasn’t able to carry her baby so her younger twin was in the incubator for her nephew! Isn’t that true sisterly love there?

Thanks for stopping at my blog. I love the socks, for some reason I have an issue knitting socks but maybe a yarn like this will hide my flaws. You don’t need the help they look amazing.

If I ever make socks with striping yarn, I won’t be matching them up either, I like the mismatched look.
