Finally Some Knitting Stuff

I started White Pine. The color of the yarn is more like the swatch photo than this one. There is no blue in the yarn. My camera and editing software insist that there must be blue. They know me too well. I have done a few rows beyond the ribbing and have already made an alteration to the pattern. I knit half the called for ribbing. I am but 5’1″ tall. I do not need a sweater that is 18″ from underarms to bottom. Would you believe that the voice in my head is already worried about having enough yarn? That would be because I started this knowing I don’t have as much yarn as the pattern calls for BUT with the modifications I plan to make I should be fine.

Last night I went to Knit Night for the first time ever. My knitting next door neighbor and I had a great time. I will be going back again for sure. Since it was much too taxing to try to follow the White Pine pattern while listening to conversation and admiring knits, I brought along these socks. They were called the 2 socks on 1 circ but now I’ll just call them the traveling sock since they’ll be in my bag from now on. I was able to get one sock on to dpns, finish the cuff and start the heel flap. Hopefully these won’t sit around too much longer.

Last night I turned over the Turn A Square hat that I knit for Knit For Boston. I knit it with a size 8 needle to get a slightly larger hat than the one I did for N. I wanted this hat to fit an adult man. I hope whoever gets it will enjoy it and most importantly I hope they will feel warm.
