H wanted to bring some cookies when she went to visit friends over the weekend. She knew what she wanted but had no idea where to find a recipe. I suggested she check out one of the cookbooks I bought a few years ago when we were in Pennsylvania. It’s The Mennonite Community Cookbook by Emma Mary Showalter. We’ve enjoyed every recipe I’ve made from this book. The cookies weren’t exactly what she was looking for but they were darn close. I think if she’d made the cookies larger and cooked them for less time she would have gotten the thicker chewier cookies she expected.

Those kind of cookies are my absolute favorite, but they look very attractive!
Oooh, they sound so tasty
Those look amazing!
I’ve wanted a soft molasses cookie recipe for ages. Any I’ve ever made turn out hard and crispy. These look luscious!
Oh, yum! Those would be perfect with a cup of tea!
They look so good I can almost smell them!!
That title made me a little nervous but yum!
Karen, these look terrific. I am drooling.
