For The Birds
A couple of years ago I bought a bag of alpaca fiber specifically for the birds at Rhinebeck with the plan to put it out the following spring. Well I tucked it away and totally forgot about it until I saw the little sparrows pulling bits of dried grass out of the lawn for nesting material. I grabbed the little bag and spread it over the wisteria which isn’t near ready to bloom yet. Most of it has fallen to the ground because of the wind though I have seen a few brave little birds grab some. Imagine how happy their little bird babies will be hatching into a nice warm soft alpaca lined nest. I bet they’ll never want to leave.

What a great idea! Lucky little baby birds!
Love it! Cool idea! When we lived on the farm and had a big golden retriever the birds would use the hair she shed as nesting material. I’d forgotten that…
Those are going to be luxury birds’ nests! I content our birds with brushing the dogs outside so they have fur for their nests. I try to do the cat, too, but I’m not sure that birds want cat fur beds, lol!
Awwww! A sweet present for the little birdies
Ok, that is genius! I love it!
There’s a lady at the local farmer’s market who sells alpaca fleece for that purpose!
